Electricity
Dalkia is one of the major players on the Czech electricity market. It produces electricity largely in cogeneration, an environmentally friendly method. The customers for electricity include the electricity traders on the Czech market, large industrial companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, and other organisations. Revenue for electricity accounts for more than 50% of Dalkia Česká republika’s total revenue.
In electricity production, we continuously increase the percentage of biomass in our boiler units, thus mitigating the environmental impacts of our operations. For example, in 2010 Dalkia commissioned a new boiler in Krnov that fires 100% biomass and is one of the largest units of its kind in the Czech energy sector. The bio boiler can cover heat consumption of one-fifth of Krnov while generating electricity. In addition to wood chips, bark, and saw dust coming from wood processing as part of timber production, the unit can also fire various types of pollard, the Uteuša variety of sorrel and other fuels. Another example of innovation in heat and electricity generation is the installation of the TG4 back-pressure turbine commissioned in Teplárna Olomouc in 2010. Its output was increased to 8 MWe as opposed to the former TG1 turbine’s 6.3 MWe, effectively boosting the cogeneration of heat and electricity in terms of output, reducing emissions and improving the efficiency of the utilisation of the energy contained in the fuel.
Terms and conditions of electricity supply by Dalkia ČR
In relation to the Energy Act’s provision that requires electricity generation licence holders, which include Dalkia Česká republika, to publish the terms and conditions of electricity supply and prices for electricity supply, including changes applicable to households and natural persons who carry on a business and take electricity at the low voltage level, Dalkia Česká republika declares that it addresses potential electricity supply, including the prices and terms and conditions thereof, with each individual customer on a case-by-case basis within the time limit laid down in legislation. The reason for this is the fact that households are not a target customer segment for Dalkia Česká republika. Its clients include large industrial companies, and small and medium-sized enterprises operating in various industries. Should you have any questions concerning electricity supply please send them to: energie@dalkia.cz.
