Regions and divisions

Dalkia Česká republika is made up of four regions (Northern Moravia Region, Central Moravia Region, Eastern Moravia Region and Bohemia Region).

Northern Moravia Region

The Northern Moravia Region is Dalkia Česká republika’s largest organisational unit and also the company’s No 1 in biomass firing. Through one of the most extensive district heating systems in Central Europe (342 km), it supplies heat to some 105,000 homes, industrial companies, hospitals, shopping centres, schools, and other customers in Ostrava, Krnov and nearby towns.

It is also a major electricity producer and a provider of ancillary and system services for the control of power and transmission in the Czech electricity grid (operated by ČEPS). Major customers include OKK-Koksovny, RPG Byty, SBD Vítkovice, SBD Nová huť, BorsodChem, Pražské pivovary, University Hospital in Ostrava, Kofola, Municipality of Krnov, Krnovské škrobárny a lihovary, Pega, OSBD Bruntál, Strojosvit and IKEA’s Avion Shopping Park. The Northern Moravia Region comprises four plants: Elektrárna Třebovice [power station], Ostrava Střed, Krnov, and Distribuce a služby [Distribution and Services].

Central Moravia Region

The Central Moravia Region supplies heat to some 44,000 homes in Olomouc, Přerov, and Nový Jičín. It also generates electricity and is one of the major ancillary service providers in the Czech Republic. In addition, it supplies steam with special parameters, intended for sophisticated technological processes, to its customers. The Central Moravia Region operates one of the most modern plants in the Czech Republic – a fluidised-bed boiler for biomass co-firing and the TG4 turbine commissioned in 2010 in Olomouc.

Major clients include Olterm&TD Olomouc, University Hospital in Olomouc, ADM Prague, Olma, Nestlé Čokoládovny, Farmak, Palacký University in Olomouc, Teplo Přerov, Precheza, PSP Technické služby, Meopta Přerov, Municipality of Nový Jičín, Nový Jičín Hospital with Policlinic, and Tonak. The Central Moravia Region comprises three plants: Teplárna Olomouc [heat & power plant], Teplárna Přerov [heat & power plant], and Distribuce a služby [Distribution and Services].

Bohemia Region

The Bohemia Region provides an umbrella for Dalkia’s operations in Bohemia, currently in particular in Prague, where it has extensive experience with the provision of multi-technical services (having operated there since 1991), in Kolín, Mariánské Lázně, Roudnice nad Labem, and other towns and cities. The Bohemia Region, which includes the Dalkia Kolín and Dalkia Mariánské Lázně subsidiaries, supplies heat to some 28,000 homes and other clients in various sectors.

Clients include the Municipality of Prague, Praha 1 Municipal District, Praha 16 Radotín Municipal District, Pražské vodovody a kanalizace, Eltodo, Palác Křižík, MTH Kolín, TPCA, Bioferm Kolín, Eligo, spa buildings and hospitals in Mariánské Lázně, and other customers from various sectors.

Eastern Moravia Region

The Eastern Moravia Region (formerly Karviná Division) supplies heat to almost 70,000 homes in the towns of Karviná, Havířov, Frýdek-Místek and Petřvald. Its business also includes generation of electricity in the combined cycle and the provision of ancillary services. Eastern Moravia Region’s major customers include Havířovská teplárenská společnost, Distep, Lázně Darkov, RPG Byty, BYTservis-služby, SBD DRUBYD, Důl Karviná, OKD’s ČSA plant, industrial plants in the Karviná – Nové Pole zone (e.g. Shimano, Dexon, Mölnlycke…), Karviná - Ráj Hospital with Policlinic, and Havířov Hospital.

The Eastern Moravia Region comprises two plants: Závod výroby (Production Plant) and Závod Distribuce a služby (Distribution and Services). Heat is generated by three heat and power plants: Teplárna Karviná, Teplárna Československé armády, and Teplárna Frýdek-Místek.
